Police on Wednesday paraded some suspected arms dealers and armed robbers at the Special Anti-Robbery Squad office in Abuja.
Those paraded included, three women, Eleana Yowel, Favour Belo and Preye Jimmy, aged 30, 25 and 21 respectively.
The three women have been paraded in a failed attempt to move over 500 rounds of live ammunition from Kano to Bayelsa.
As discovered by officers of the Special Tactical Squad of the Nigerian police, who apprehended them, the bullets were concealed in a rice sack.
Unfortunately to them, they were apprehended by men of the Special Tactical Squad on the transition.
On 24th day of June, 2020, Men of the Nigerian police, arrested and subsequently paraded the three female suspects after their efforts to transit 818 rounds of live ammunition from Kano State to Bayelsa state, proved abortive.
Among the suspects, Favour Belo was assigned to handover the concealed half bag of rice to Preye Jimmy, on her arrival to Bayelsa state
The concealed half bag of rice contained 818 rounds of live ammunition carefully concealed inside.
A special and intelligent Police operative who monitored activities at motor park intercepted them. Unfortunately to them their mission failed.
According to Frank Mba, the Force Public Relations Officer, in his statement during the parading, when Favour Belo arrived the motor parked in an attempt to board a bus moving down Bayelsa state in South-South Nigeria, the intelligent operatives intercepted and prompted a search on the concealed half bag of rice. Is on that note that the concealed ammunition were discovered.
